Kitchen Remodel project update

So we are making progress on the Kitchen and it is all going to come together here really soon! Just today, the countertop people came by an measured for the one piece stone countertops, should be about a week or two for those... In the meantime we are installing the heated floors and painting everything. We have a temporary sink installation right now so that we can stop washing dishes in the bathroom. It's starting to look like a kitchen again, we are really starting to see what it is going to end up like. Pretty exciting!

I'll leave you with some shots that I took this morning while the electrician was finishing up.

Heading North

Ben and I are heading up to the Last Frontier again, to hang with our buddy Kevin for his birthday. We are super excited for a return to our last "home", hang out at our hold hangouts :), eat our favorite AK food and drink our favorite AK beers, see the beautiful Alaskan winter landscapes, and of course, spend time with friends. We're just keeping our fingers crossed that Mount Redoubt, an active volcano 100 miles southwest of Anchorage, doesn't blow her top off! Here is a recent picture....

Happy Weathermans Day!

Today, Thursday, February 5 is National Weatherman's Day, commemorating the birth of John Jeffries in 1744. Jeffries, one of America's first weather observers, began taking daily weather observations in Boston in 1774 and he took the first balloon observation in 1784. This is a day to recognize the men and women who collectively provide Americans with the best weather, water, and climate forecasts and warning services of any nation.

Get ready to pee your pants!

This guy is one of our favorite comedians. One of the best ways to watch it is with Ben's dad, he starts laughing so hard he starts to cry, which makes you laugh more, which makes him laugh more....pretty funny. ENJOY!

Our Europe Honeymoon

I know I know I know, its been almost 2 months since we got back, but here they finally are!!! To fill in some of you, we went on our honeymoon in November for 3 great weeks. We started in Spain, going where ever the wind blew us, then went to visit a friend on the island of Cyprus, then headed over to Italy to meet up with some friends there. It was amazing and can't wait to go back to explore all of what Europe has to offer!

Our new house

A lot of far away friends have been wanting to see pictures of our house we just bought in Boulder. And, since we are beginning our TOTAL kitchen remodel on Monday, we thought we'd show you what it looks like before. These pictures were taken during our inspection back in October, so it still wasn't ours then...and we've done some things already. So we'll have to post more pictures later. But here's an idea of what it looks like. Look for updated Kitchen pictures in about a week!

Xmas 2008

For this year's holiday, we were so happy to have Ben's parents come up with us to my parents house in Nebraska for some good relaxing holiday time!

Here we are at my grandparents house having our (the Reed side) traditional Christmas Eve dinner of chili and oyster soup. Then we all gathered for a Kriederman tradition of a group "7 & 7" drink!
The moms chatting while Ben relaxes after the 5 hour drive
Four generations, minus my sister. My grandma to the right, then my mom holding her granddaughter Kayla.
We brought the dogs up to play on the 40 acres with my parents new dog shadow. They had so much fun they almost died!!! - basically they found some rat poison that they thought would be delicious. Luckily we caught them and poured some peroxide down their throats so they would puke it up, it worked!!!
