Starting my new job.....

For those of you who don't know, I took a job at the Boulder-Denver National Weather Service Office as an Incident Meteorologist (IMET), where I become an onsite meteorologist for such things as wildfires, oil/chemical spills, and other various incidents. I have gone on a couple other training fires about 2 years ago, but still need some more training to be completely signed off. I was called to a wildfire in California about 2 weeks ago, where I stayed for about a week. Almost certified! Click on the picture below to see scenes from my time down south of Monterey!

Hey Miss Lisa,

Sorry I missed your call while you were in Monterey. I was at a dance competitions in SF. The competitions were all day Saturday and then I social danced until 5 am. By the time I woke up on Sunday and heard your message, you would have been gone. But the good news is that I made it to Semi-Finals out of 93 women!

I'm so glad you're finally getting to go out on fires. I always wanted to go on a fire when I was a Fire Wx Met way way long ago. I won't say HOW long. ;-) Anyway, I checked out the YouTube video of the Indian Fire firewhirl. That was AWESOME!
Take Care!
