Andy Brown, from Anchorage, has been visiting us for the past two weeks, its been GREAT! He's here for a Winter Weather workshop in Boulder, so every night we get to hang out with him. Last weekend, we took him hiking all around. The first one was to the first flatiron starting in Chautauqua Park.

So Shine a light on all of your friends...
One of the greatest things about moving back down to the Lower 48 is the live music we have access too now! Ben and I went to go see Jason Mraz at the Fillmore last night - aaaaaamazing! A great performance by a guy you swear you're friends with. A really cool thing was this "Gridmob" thing they had. On the screens up on the stage it said that "Taking pictures IS allowed. Go ahead and email them to "yournumber@gridmob.com""......and then they showed up on the screen behind Jason! I sent a picture of Ben and I and it showed up about 3 or 20 times (just for you ness).
Great concert, can't wait to explore more live music. Actually, his opening band was awesome, go check them out - Lisa Hannigan
As Jason says....what a beautiful mess this is.

Starting my new job.....
For those of you who don't know, I took a job at the Boulder-Denver National Weather Service Office as an Incident Meteorologist (IMET), where I become an onsite meteorologist for such things as wildfires, oil/chemical spills, and other various incidents. I have gone on a couple other training fires about 2 years ago, but still need some more training to be completely signed off. I was called to a wildfire in California about 2 weeks ago, where I stayed for about a week. Almost certified! Click on the picture below to see scenes from my time down south of Monterey!

Our beautiful friends' wedding
Our friends Vanessa and Brian, who were a part of our wedding, graced us by asking us to be a part of their special day. It was a beautiful fall day in Boulder with so many wonderful people (including a wedding party of 22 people!), and most of all the celebration of their love!

Fall Fest - "A Festivus for the rest of us."
Fall fest '08 saw a decline in participation this year. Most likely due to the move and the great distances people needed to travel to be here. Vanessa, one of the founding memebers of the fest, was able to make it this year. She always brings the festivus to the rest of us when she attends.
Vanessa being intense, hmmmm never really expected that out of her did we?The artists in action. It was a good year with some great creativity...
Here is a lineup of the precarved pumpkins... The one white one is in there in memory of Dominic Bein Green, he carved an albino at the inaugural fest in HI. Haven't heard from him in a while... drop a line if you're reading this Dom.
Here is V showing off the dinnerware, as we just moved and all the real stuff is in storage until we move into our permanent house.
This years fest included a friendly game of beer pong. I was the raining champion until Lisa came from out of nowhere to claim the title!
Here she is gloating...;) Thanks to all 5 of us who made it happen this year. For all of you who didn't show, blow up your tv and go outside!
