Waimea Bay

After Kawela Beach, we stopped into Haleiwa for a short time then on to Waimea Bay....the location of the Eddie Aikau Big Wave Competition. Obviously, the waves were nil, but still a good enough swell to do some body surfing in.
Kevin, Spring and Ben waiting for the next wave.....

The Last Day

The last day Kevin and I were on Oahu, I brought him to Ko'olina....a super post resort on the west side of the island. Its cool that anyone can still use their beaches and amazing lagoons, no charge!

Kevin chose this drink as his last on the islands....the Tropical Itch, complete with a back scratcher. That helped him sleep GOOD for the ride home.
It was an amazing trip, full of great friends, great times and great memories! Until next time.......ALOOOOOOOOHAAA!

Happy Birthday Vanessa!

Our very hip and stylish favorite friend is celebrating her birthday today, and hopefully patenting her great invention of a camera holder....shown below :)

She's gonna LOVE us for posting that :)

For those of you that can't tell who it is as the sunglasses are throwing you off, here's one of my favorites she's recently taken with her soon-to-be husband Brian and their cute girl Tikka.
You should all go to her blog and comment with birthday wishes and cheer! www.vanessasadventures.blogspot.com

LOVE YOU NESS! Miss you and have a wonderful birthday filled with presents, love, happiness and beer. :)

April, Smapril, its still winter up here

The last month up here has been really warm, melting almost all the snow, and really gearing us up for spring.....however, mother nature just wasn't ready. So Saturday, she brought up to a FOOT of new snow to the Anchorage Bowl! Its nice to see everything covered in snow again, covering up all the brown, but I really was ready for spring, and only wanted to go through ONE breakup (where all the snow/ice melts up here and everything is a mucky mess for quite a while). Oh well. Enjoy the picture of the freshly fallen snow. This is looking east from Anchorage, toward the mountains.

My Birthday Beersledding Adventure

This year for my birthday, we joined up with some friends and competed in an amazingly fun competition of Beersledding! Goal: be the first down to the cars at the bottom of a 3.something mile trail on sleds, while shotgunning beers at the top of every major hill. Not too bad, but OH SO FUN!!!!!!!

At the top.....
Ben and Kevin enjoying the soft banks and beer

A shotgunning party being pelted by snowballs!

Fun in the snow!

Not sure how this kept happening, my sled would turn me around and I'd finish backwards....screaming of course. Ben zooming in close trying to keep up with me
The group enjoying one of many beer shotgunning breaks
Sergios and Moksha trying a new sledding position, didn't work out so well :)

Intro to my Birthday

Unfortunately I had to work on my birthday, but when I got home, Ben was still in the process of blowing up over 140 balloons and decorating the house! It was fun to see, even though I came home before he was done. Then before we headed out for the evenings activities (Beersledding!), I got to open up my presents.

Here was one of Ben's presents to me, perfectly wrapped in MONKEYS!
One of my many mylar balloons
Ben was so great, after decorating everything and getting me wonderful presents! He got me a yoga mat, a HUGE vase of indoor growing tulips, and a 15" screen frame for digital pictures, already preloaded with all of our "Us" pictures - so cute! I also got some beautiful earrings from my parents, an REI gift card and Sweet Potato chips (MY FAVORITE) from my soon to be in laws, and some great cards from lots of other friends and family - THANK YOU EVERYONE!

And Finally, the Bachelorette's Post

Sorry it took me FOREVER to post a blog on my bachelorette party, but FINALLY, here it is. As many of you know, Ben and I held our parties together in Vegas so it was easier for everyone to get together since we are all spread across the US. Well, unfortunately, not many showed up, but those of us that did - MAN did we party it up! My Maid-of-Honor and sister Amber, my bridesmaid Vanessa and my dear beautiful friend from Hawaii Hilary joined me for the hoopla. Minus a bad spout of coffee-aholic behavior one day to help keep awake from partying, we had some great girl time in and an epic dance-party-a-thon together! Thanks a million my lovely ladies!

The hotties out on the town!
The Hawaii clan back together again!
Hilary and I enjoying the first day together, after almost 3 years of not seeing each other. She's still just has fun and hilarious to be with. Can't wait to see you again in April Hil!
My lovely sister Amber, there for me through and through, and always up for ANYTHING! Love ya!

Vanessa, my boldly beautiful bridesmaid who is engaged herself, and I get to return the favor and be her bridesmaid as well! Again, thanks for all the ideas - including this party! :) Can't wait to see you again in April as well!

Bechelorette party activities

Of course we had to partake in some lounging by the pool and catching some rays, especially albino looking Ben and Lisa from the AK!!!
Enjoyed the sights, sounds and smells of the city. Hilary and Vanessa planning something fun, or maybe evil by the look in their smiles :)
Sunday morning, we all went to the House of Blues for a Gospel Choir Brunch.....VERY exciting, entertaining and just plain stupendous
Unfortunately Amber and Ty and Hilary had to leave a bit early, but the rest of us went out on a beautiful sunny day out to Red Rock Canyon for some rock climbing. Here's Ness rippin it up and preparing for her idea of starting an all-women adventure company. LOVE IT!
